Message from Judith Morris – President and CEO Lambton College
Full-time enrolment at Lambton College continues to grow year after year. Lambton is not only serving students from the Sarnia community and from across Ontario, Lambton is the college of choice for approximately 500 international students, adding to the diversity of our College.
Lambton has launched some exciting new facilities in the last few months including the Sustainable Smart Home (SSH), a $1.2 million facility featuring cutting-edge energy management systems and built with applied research and applied learning in mind. Another exciting new facility, recently opened, is our Fire and Public Safety Centre of Excellence, an $11 million facility featuring a two-storey structure with five classrooms, a triple-truck bay, a new fire tower and a variety of new training props (e.g. tanks, vessels, pumps, etc.).
Lambton College is looking forward to launching new full-time programs in September 2012 including Digital Photography, a two-year Ontario College Diploma; Hair Stylist, a fast-tracked 12-month Ontario College Diploma; and, Therapeutic Recreation, a one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate in September.
As we move into the development of our new strategic plan, this year, Lambton College will continue to make academic excellence a priority with focus in the areas of Process Manufacturing; Fire & Emergency Response; Health; Creative Design and Apprenticeships. The college will also continue to grow research initiatives in advanced materials, bio-chemical and alternative energy.
We intend to further increase enrolment both locally and internationally, and expand relationships with local companies to increase co-op and field placement opportunities.
As always the College provides active and engaging teaching and learning opportunities, flexible programming and seamless learning pathways. Lambton offers a world of possibilities in full-time and part-time learning, continuing education, on-line learning and more.
