This one-year program provides students with theory and clinical experience that upon graduation allows them to work in long-term care homes and/or support to clients in the community.

The students in this program will be provided with the knowledge and skills needed to observe and respond to the needs of clients in long-term care homes, retirement homes, and in the community. The Personal Support Worker assists the client with activities of daily living including personal care, meals, and household management.

Admission Requirements

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U

Course equivalencies can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton.

Employment Opportunities

Personal Support Workers are employed in community home care and long-term care agencies. They work under the supervision of professionals and according to a plan of care.
