Program Information

This Board of Governor Certificate program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to be an effective member of a food service team in a commercial, institutional or long-term care facility. The program covers food preparation, service, nutrition and sanitation practices, customer service, communications and business skills. This course includes field placement for students without previous training in an institutional setting or job training in a food service operation. Students are required to have a valid Food Handling and First Aid/CPR certificate.

Completion of Grade 10

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this program may seek employment in long term-care facilities as dietary aides in institutional food service facilities.
