This Board of Governor certificate program provides the student with theoretical and practical knowledge using simulated case studies to prepare them for a future in Medical Transcription. Several prerequisites are required prior to taking CSCM-6123 -Beginning Medical Transcription. As well, there have been two new courses added to the certificate program that must be completed prior to enrolling in CSCM-6123. Students are advised that each transcription course will require in excess of eight hours of work per week. These changes are being made to better prepare students for the workload later in the certificate and will help students develop the highest level of transcription skills required in the industry.

O.S.S.D. or equivalent

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this program may seek employment as medical transcriptionists at medical and dental offices, health insurance businesses, and home-based businesses.
