The Degree Preparation program will prepare students to move into both degree and applied degree programs at several universities and colleges.

The program will give the student a strong introduction to subject areas including sciences, mathematics, and social science thereby preparing them for further educational opportunities. This program is a transition year for secondary school graduates and mature students who lack prerequisites to enter a degree program.

Note: Qualifying for the top category of applicants for any program does not guarantee entry into the program. Universities and Colleges will decide on a case-by-case basis whether the applicant is admitted into their program.

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U
Grade 12 Mathematics C or U
Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry C or U OR Grade 11 or 12 Biology C or U 

 Course equivalencies can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton.

Pre-Degree - First Nations
Guaranteed admission will be offered by The University of Western Ontario and University of Windsor for First Nations students who graduate with specific grade point averages from this program at Lambton College.

This program is not eligible for Second Career or other programs under the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities (MTCU) - Employment & Training Division.

 Applicants will be expected to communicate electronically and to use computer applications as required in their programs on a course by course basis.

There are currently no transfer agreements for this program.

Shaw Foundation Entrance Award – Students can apply to the Financial Aid Office upon starting their first year. For more details visit the Financial Aid website.

General Awards

Lucia Mrowiec English Award – Awarded to the student with the highest marks in two of ENG 111, ENG 211, or ENG 311 (ENG 115, ENG 215 if offered). Student must have taken both courses during their previous academic year and must have an overall GPA of at least 3.5. No application is required. Students will be notified by the Awards office if they qualify.

School & Program Specific Awards

Laurie Coleman/OPSEU Memorial Award - This award is given to a full-time student with the highest mark in CHM-210 and preference is give to a mature female.
