The Business Administration - Accounting program is a three-year program that emphasizes accounting, but also offers broad training in the many facets of business.

Graduates of this program have a solid base of business skills and the accounting background to apply the principles and techniques of general accounting, financial analysis, planning, control and management accounting.

It is possible for accounting graduates to obtain advanced standing in the study program of the Certified General Accountants Association leading to the professional designation C.G.A.

O.S.S.D. or equivalent with:
Grade 12 English C or U
Any Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics C or U

Course equivalencies can be obtained through Academic Upgrading and Pre-Programs at Lambton.

Graduates of the Business Administration - Accounting program are prepared for a wide variety of management-oriented and accounting positions. Graduates may find employment in entry-level positions in general management, accounting, finance, and production and inventory control. Employment settings can include all sectors of business and industry such as banks and other financial institutions, government, public and private accounting firms, small business, tax preparation firms, financial planning businesses, and self-employment.

This program is not eligible for Second Career or other programs under the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities (MTCU) - Employment & Training Division.

Students must be able to use a keyboard and other computer-related equipment. Some students with disabilities may require academic accommodation to equalize opportunities to meet the academic demands of a course or program.

General Awards

Lucia Mrowiec English Award – Awarded to the student with the highest marks in two of ENG 111, ENG 211, or ENG 311 (ENG 115, ENG 215 if offered). Student must have taken both courses during their previous academic year and must have an overall GPA of at least 3.5. No application is required. Students will be notified by the Awards office if they qualify.

Co-op Memorial Award – This award is awarded to a student with a GPA over 3.0 who has been exceptionally successful at his/her co-op placement. There is no need to apply - eligible students are selected by the College co-op coordinators.

Gordon Henderson Memorial Award – Students who are eligible for this award must have an excellent GPA as well as a successful co-op experience. Students need not apply, selection is made by the College co-op department.

School & Program Specific Awards

Barkwell Economics Awards – Awarded to the student with the highest percentage grade in ECO 111 and ECO 112. Student must be registered full-time in a Business program to be considered.

Lawrence-Todesco Award – To be eligible for this award the student must have the highest GPA and must have completed his/her second year of a Business program and be returning for the 3rd year.

Sarnia Traffic Club Award – This award recognizes the full-time business student with the highest grade in MKT 341-3 (Logistics). The student must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.

Cole Business Award – Business students with a GPA over 3.5 and who are in their graduating year are invited to apply for this award through their College e-mail account. Students are then required to fill out an application in order to be eligible for the award.

Larry Parizeau Award - Awarded to a full-time business student with the highest mark in both ACC- 320 and ACC-420. Students are not required to fill out an application.

BP Canada Energy Company Awards - Awarded to the student with the highest cumulative GPA/course load after completing year two of Business Administration.
