Railway Conductor

  • The Railway Conductor program was developed by experts in the industry in cooperation with the Railway Association of Canada who have selected only a few colleges nationwide to deliver this program. Students gain a depth of knowledge in 12 weeks that would otherwise take years to achieve. Graduates of this program are highly sought after by industry employers. The program is designed to prepare participants for a career in the demanding railway industry. Graduates can expect to find employment on Class 1 railways, shortlines, regional carriers and in industrial settings.

Participants in this program will spend 80% of time in a classroom setting and 20% of the time in the rail yards of local rail companies and industries. Student learning is evaluated throughout the program.

  • Admission Requirements
    O.S.S.D or equivalent with
    Grade 12 English C or U

All applicants must participate in an advisory interview to determine program compatibility.

Note: Employment in the railway industry requires a clean record, applicants with a criminal record will not likely obtain employment in the industry even if they are successful in passing the program.
