4. Provide Students with Innovative and Flexible Learning Options

  • Lambton College has long demonstrated a culture of innovation: our programs are continually updated and improved based on input from our program advisory committees, our Learning Innovation Centre staff are engaged and respected, and our faculty have embraced many pedagogical innovations over the years to enhance student learning. Over the next five years, the College recognizes that it will be vital to support our faculty and staff as they assess best practices in the rapidly evolving fields of hybrid, mobile, and open learning, while we focus on student learning outcomes and adopt new teaching and learning approaches that enhance those outcomes. Our mission requires that we provide our students with an increasingly broad range of flexible options in order to extend access to non-traditional markets and improve student persistence and success.

    • Enhance active learning and student engagement by building more learning studios
    • Lambton College will become a Mobile Learning College by 2016
    • Develop designated mobile learning programs
    • Develop tools, training and time for faculty to develop and incorporate mobile learning elements into their curriculum
