Dual Credit ProgramSchool-Within-A-College Program
If you’re a student in Grade 12 who is planning on going to College in the near future, you should consider the Dual Credit program.
Students in the Dual Credit program take courses on Lambton College’s campus on their scheduled day(s) during the school year. Students who successfully complete Dual Credit courses receive a high school AND the appropriate College credit(s). Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) students are eligible for this program by working with their Student Success team.
This program is a great way to familiarize yourself with the College setting and by doing so, you will be able to make a better decision about where to go for your post-secondary education and training and is very successful in easing the transition from secondary school to the post-secondary world.
Students in this program complete credits at Lambton College and also receive high school credits for these courses. Unlike the Dual Credit program, students in the School-Within-A-College program are coming to Lambton two or three times a week and they are completing the majority of their outstanding credits at College.
To be eligible, students must be:
- Registered at a high school in Ontario
- Eight or fewer credits short of completing an O.S.S.D., depending upon their intake date (September intake students must have 22 credits or more; January intake requires 25 credits or more)
