Apprenticeships

  • What is an Apprentice?

An apprentice is someone who learns a skilled trade on the job, under the direction of more experienced workers. Apprentices also complete classroom instruction as a part of their training and they are employees and earn a salary while they learn their skilled trade.

    Finding Employment

To become an apprentice, you must find an employer or sponsor who is willing to train you and engage in apprenticeship training. People who want to become apprentices usually apply directly to an employer or trades union.

The Lambton College Community Employment Services job postings and the Service Canada Job Bank are two great places to browse current employment opportunities.
