  • Youth Job Connection - Summer

The summer component of Youth Job Connection provides summer, part-time and after-school job opportunities for high school students between the ages of 15 and 18 who are facing challenging life circumstances and may need support transitioning between school and work.

    Program participants must:

    • Complete a minimum of 20 hours and maximum of 30 hours of pre-employment training before job placement
    • Take part in a job placement

Please Note: Participants will receive a stipend equivalent to the provincial minimum wage when they participate in pre-employment training and/or workshops. Payment occurs after the participant completes 20 hours of pre-employment service.

  • Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for Youth Job Connection - Summer, you must be:

    1. Between the ages of 15 and 18 at the time of registration
    2. A resident of Ontario
    3. Eligible to work in Canada
    4. A high school student intending to stay in or return to high school or access post-secondary education after completing the job placement

    Suitability
The program is open to all eligible youth. However, the intention is to help youth who have a lower likelihood of finding a summer job by themselves, with a focus on those who are at risk of experiencing poor transitions between education and work, compared to other groups of youths. Youths who have made successful transitions to post-secondary education are not the target of this program.
