Academic Upgrading - In-Class

  • Canada Employment Ontario Ontario logos

This Employment Ontario program is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.

Academic Upgrading is an in-class, free, flexible, supportive program designed to help students meet their individual college, apprenticeship or employment goals.

Our in-class program guides students back into the academic world by creating a plan to bring their reading, writing and other essential skills up to the end of high school level.

Our program is designed for individuals who:

    • May or may not have completed high school
    • Need prerequisite courses to apply for college programs
    • Have been out of school for a long time
    • Would like to refresh their skills

    Interested in upgrading online?

  • What to Expect

Students in this program can expect to:

    • Work independently on assigned tasks in a classroom of adult learners
    • Receive one-on-one coaching and feedback from your teacher
    • Set aside about three months per course to allow for completion

The duration of the program will depend on each student's beginning assessment level, his/her goals and progress in the program.

Students are encouraged to begin upgrading as early as possible in order to meet college application deadlines.
