As the second oldest college in Ontario, the 50th anniversary milestone is quite significant to Lambton College.

As a special thank you to the City of Sarnia and the County of Lambton, we planned a 50th Anniversary Legacy Project & Community Day to celebrate this milestone.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2017 all Lambton College students, faculty and staff participated in a county-wide Legacy Project, as well as a variety of individualized community projects.

    About the Legacy Project

As our thank you for the continued support of the community, we executed a very special Legacy Project which included Sarnia and branched out to the other 10 municipalities of Lambton County.

The Legacy Project saw a grove of 50 birch trees planted in Sarnia with an additional 10 birch trees planted in each of the surrounding municipalities, for a total of 150 trees to mark both the 50th anniversary of Lambton College and the 150th birthday of Canada.

Each grove of trees forms a semi-circle around a central legacy feature. Each of these features is unified by carefully selected words depicting what the College represents and the relationship with the community and the City of Sarnia.

The words of each municipality's feature links back to the Sarnia site, representing a shared vision and a positive future for our College and our community.

In addition to the main Legacy Project, various departments and groups at Lambton College executed smaller community projects that will also took place that day.
