Labour Market Info

According to the Canadian Occupational Projection System (COPS) from 2017 - 2026 the following labour market projections are forecasted for Train/Crew Operation Occupations (NOC Code 7360) Canada-wide:

  • Due to the expansion and replacement demands, job openings are expected to total 3,400.

Skill Demands

This program demands a high level of physical fitness. Good general health is required including the ability to lift and manipulate heavy weight. Some students with disabilities may require academic accommodation to equalize opportunities to mee the acaemic demands of a course or program.

Practical Experience

Clothing
Practical experiences will take place outside no matter the weather conditions. Wear appropriate attire based on various weather conditions.
Safety Boots (Required)
Each student is required to supply their own safety boots. Safety boots must be CSA approved steel toe, leather, lace-up, 6" tall and 0.5-1" heel at a right angle from the sole. These are mandatory during all practical experiences.
Safety Glasses (Required)
If you require prescription glasses, you will also need to supply your own safety glasses. Otherwise, safety glasses will be provided to you. These are mandatory during all of your practical experiences.
