Lambton College cancelling classes from March 16 through March 20 to retool programs

SARNIA, March 13, 2020 – To protect our students and staff from COVID-19, Lambton College has been actively monitoring and making decisions based on the guidance from Lambton Public Health, Public Health Ontario and all levels of government.

Lambton College will remain open, however, suspend classes March 16 - March 20, inclusively, while programs and operations are retooled to develop alternate remote options. Beginning on March 23, learning will resume in alternate formats with the intent to have students finish the winter term on schedule.

Though Lambton will remain open, we hope the reduced traffic on campus will reduce the risk of possible infection.

“Protecting students and staff remains our top priority,” said Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College. “We are committed to providing safe environments for students and employees while enuring our students are able to complete their studies.”

Lambton College’s Spring Open House has been postponed and a new date has yet to be determined. In the interim, the College will deliver Open House information in a virtual online format on Saturday March 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at lambtoncollege.ca/openhouse.

“Extensive pandemic plans and protocols have and will continue to be deployed. Lambton will maintain regular contact with public health officials and continue to work very closely with students and employees as we move through this challenge,” Morris said.
