SARNIA, December 18, 2021 – Despite a successful and safe return to campus for the Fall 2021 academic term, Lambton College has made the difficult decision to temporarily return to a hybrid learning model for the month of January.

College officials are moving ahead with the development of a plan that will see all theory classes move online until Friday, January 28, 2022. At this time, practical course components will continue to take place on campus, including labs and apprenticeship training. Students participating in co-op placements will also continue as per the guidelines of their employer.

Essential services will also remain available in-person, and non-essential services will be available online. Additionally, an in-depth student remote support plan is planned for students that includes virtual supports and access to other services such as online counselling and tutoring.

These temporary safeguards are being implemented to protect the College’s long-term ability to reopen the campus for increased face to face learning and expanded opportunities for student life.

Details and logistics of the hybrid plan for January are currently being finalized and students can expect to see these changes reflected in their course schedules, which should be available in the coming week.

As it stands, this move to hybrid learning is intended as a temporary measure to protect the College community and the progress that’s been made to date. Lambton remains committed to welcoming students back to campus in the new year and will continue do so with health and safety still at the forefront.
