NOVA Chemicals Science & Technology Award

Eligibility Criteria

• Entering into year 1 or year 2 of above-named programs 
• Must be in good academic standing (minimum 2.7 GPA / or 70%)
• Financial need
• Letters of recommendation
• Summary of self 
• Student must meet Ontario residency requirements as outlined by OSAP   
• Open to Lambton College students, Sarnia campus

Selection Process

A committee consisting of NOVA Chemicals and Lambton College representatives review each application and candidates for the award.

We encourage you to complete your application carefully and to ensure that all required documentation is included in your application package. Failure to provide all components will result in a decrease in score when assessing your application. A combined score from each section is used to rank each application.

This is a demanding, but rewarding scholarship, and successful candidates can be justifiably proud of the achievements. We wish you every success with your application and with your studies at Lambton College. 

To maintain award eligibility (stages 2-5), you must successfully complete all required courses in your academic term of your program. If you receive F(fail), W(withdrew), NG (no grade) or Y (no grade) or any designation other than a passing grade in the normal allotted time for the term, you will lose eligibility for this award. You must complete the term with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.25. You must be returning to Lambton College in the following academic year.  We do re-evaluate each academic term to see if you are eligible for the next phase.

Award details are as follows:

• Stage 1: Initial award End of academic term 1, returning for academic term 2 - $1,000
• Stage 2: End of academic term 2, returning for academic term 3 - $1,000.00
• Stage 3: End of academic term 3, returning for academic term 4 - $1,000.00
• Stage 4: End of academic term 4, returning for academic term 5 - $1,000.00
• Stage 5: End of academic term 5, returning for academic term 6 - $1,000.00
