    Faculty Bargaining Update

Faculty Bargaining Update

  • The Ontario College faculty union, which represents Lambton College's full-time and partial load instructors, professors, counsellors, and librarians have been negotiating with the College Employer Council in hopes of securing a new collective agreement.

Recently, union members from across all public Ontario colleges engaged in a strike vote. As a result of this vote, the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), which represents the college faculty groups, gave notice to begin labour action as of Saturday, December 18. The faculty union have indicated that they intend to implement various forms of work-to-rule, and will not officially strike at this time.

  • Quick Facts

    • The previous collective agreement expired in September 2021.
    • The fall 2021 term will not be affected by this development.
    • Lambton College remains optimistic that a contract for the faculty union will be negotiated without a strike.
