SARNIA, October 22, 2025 - In his 40-year career as an internationally renowned music photographer, Richard Beland has captured music’s defining moments and photographed many of its greatest legends. With his new coffee table book, Our Immortal Stars, Vol. 1, Beland invites readers to journey with him through music history and the iconic artists who have shaped it.

The 250-page hardcover volume features over 200 striking photographs accompanied by personal stories and essays that chronicle a lifetime behind the lens. From electrifying live performances to intimate portraits, Our Immortal Stars, Vol. 1 showcases Beland’s signature ability to translate sound and atmosphere into image.

“In every performance I photograph, my goal is to create an image that feels as alive as the music itself,” said Beland. “I’m grateful to share this collection and the stories that have shaped my career.”

Beland’s work has been featured in a range of magazines and publications, including Rolling Stone, SPIN, People, and Maclean’s. He has photographed more than 3,000 live performances, from Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie and Dolly Parton to Nirvana, Black Sabbath, and beyond. Beland also notably photographed The Tragically Hip more than 150 times, including the band’s final concert in Kingston, Ontario.

Beland brings this extensive experience to the classroom and lab at Lambton College where he is the Coordinator of the Photography program, mentoring the next generation of creative professionals and visual storytellers with the precision, passion, and storytelling spirit that has defined his career.

“On behalf of Lambton College, I want to congratulate Richard on the release of this milestone collection,” said Rob Kardas, President & CEO, Lambton College. “Richard is an extraordinary example of the real-world experience our faculty members bring to the programs and courses at Lambton College, giving our students the opportunity to learn from experts who are truly shaping their fields.”

Beland will celebrate the launch of Our Immortal Stars, Vol. 1 at a Book Launch and Artist Reception on Saturday, October 25, from 6–9 p.m. at Liss Gallery in Toronto’s Yorkville district.
