SARNIA, September 24, 2026 – Lambton College is proud to announce a $1 million donation from BMO in support of student wellness, representing a meaningful 10-year commitment to strengthening mental health supports and services across the College.
BMO’s significant gift will enhance a range of student wellness initiatives, including peer-led programming such as the Lion’s Mind Peer Wellness Collective and the Lion’s Heart, Lambton College’s on-campus food bank and clothing closet.
The donation will help ensure students have access to timely, relevant, and compassionate support, whether through mental health resources, peer connection, or assistance meeting basic needs. It will support expanded peer training, increased access points, enhanced programming through Lion’s Mind, and continued support for the Lion’s Heart, helping more students overcome barriers and succeed in their studies.
“When students have the support they need to navigate challenges, they are better positioned to learn, grow and reach their potential," said Sheri Griffiths, Senior Vice President and Head of Ontario, Corporate Finance, BMO Commercial Bank. "Through Lion's Mind and Lion's Heart, Lambton College is helping students access mental health support, peer connection, and essential resources. We're honoured to partner with Lambton College to help build stronger communities by investing in student well-being and future success."
Lambton College has long prioritized a student-centred approach to wellness, recognizing that mental health supports are essential to persistence, academic success, and overall student experience. BMO’s support will help empower students to reach their full potential both during their studies and as contributors to strong, vibrant communities.
“At Lambton College, we know that student success is deeply connected to student well-being,” said Rob Kardas, President & CEO, Lambton College. “BMO’s long-term commitment allows us to build and sustain the kind of supports that help reduce barriers and ensure students are ready to learn. This is an investment not only in our students, but in the strength and well-being of the communities they will go on to shape.”
Through initiatives like the Lion’s Mind Peer Wellness Collective and the Lion’s Heart, students are able to access resources, connect with support, and build resilience in a caring and inclusive environment.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment between Lambton College and BMO to invest in people, strengthen communities, and support the next generation of leaders.
