SARNIA, October 28, 2026 - Community spirit, student leadership, and hockey will come together on Wednesday, November 4, as Lambton College and the Sarnia Sting host the fifth annual Lions Night @ Sting.

This event brings together students, alumni, employees and community members for an evening that celebrates Lambton College pride while highlighting the many ways college students contribute to the Sarnia-Lambton community.

As part of the celebration, the Sarnia Sting will take to the ice in newly designed Lambton College-themed jerseys, continuing a popular Lions Night tradition and showcasing the strong partnership between the two organizations.

“Lambton College is both our neighbour and a valued partner, and we’re proud of the relationship we’ve built through creating opportunities for students and bringing our community together,” said Jake Bourrie, Vice President of Business Operations, Sarnia Sting. “Lions Night is a chance to celebrate that connection and the difference Lambton students make across Sarnia-Lambton. We’re proud to wear the Lions head on our jerseys for this special night and share our home ice with the Lambton College community.”

Throughout the game, students from a variety of Lambton College programs and initiatives will lead activities and fundraising efforts in support of important causes. Members of Lion's Mind, Lambton College's peer wellness collective, will host a Chuck-a-Puck fundraiser in support of the Lion’s Heart Emergency Student Food Bank and Clothing Closet, helping students facing food insecurity and financial hardship.

Students from the Fire Science Technology program will continue their longstanding tradition of community fundraising through a Boot Drive supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Esthetician students will offer temporary tattoos for fans.

Lions Night also highlights the longstanding and unique partnership between Lambton College’s Sports & Recreation Administration program and the Sarnia Sting, which provides students with valuable experiential learning opportunities. Students regularly contribute to game-day operations and special events, gaining hands-on industry experience while helping create memorable experiences for fans. Students will once again be involved at Lions Night, including the first intermission activity.

"Lions Night is an opportunity to celebrate the pride our students have in Lambton College and the ways they continue to make a difference throughout our community," said Rob Kardas, President & CEO, Lambton College. "From fundraising initiatives to experiential learning opportunities, students are at the centre of this event, creating an unforgettable experience that brings people together."

Additional game-night highlights include prize giveaways, a t-shirt toss, and an opportunity for fans to show their Lambton College spirit by wearing blue. Student leaders will take part in the ceremonial puck drop.

Adding to the celebration, Lambton College alumnus and country musician Colt McLauchlin will perform the national anthem before puck drop.

Lions Night @ Sting takes place Wednesday, November 4, when the Sarnia Sting host the Owen Sound Attack at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.

Tickets are available for $12 through the Sarnia Sting website.
