Photography students have the opportunity to collaborate with classmates as they photograph events both on and off campus, and a photography field study in New York City during second year challenges students to expand their horizons.

Welding Techniques students go on 3-4 field trips per term to various industry locations. From fabrication shops to railcar industry sites, students gain first-hand exposure to what it’s like to work in this career. These trips bridge program content with industry standards and usage, and provide an opportunity to network with professionals in their direct career path.

Pathways Children’s Treatment Centre
CDAS students in the Intro to Augmentative and Alternative Communication class visited the Expanded Level AAC Clinic at Pathways Children’s Treatment Centre, exploring AAC systems from single‑switch to high‑tech eye‑gaze and learning clinic team roles and impact.

Fire Department of New York Academy
Yearly, FIRE students travel to NYC to experience training and recruitment at the FDNY Academy. Students visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, and gain a deeper respect for the risks and dedication of this profession. They finish by marching in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade along historic 5th Avenue.
Fire Science Technology
Inn of the Good Shepherd
SSWK students take part in orientation and volunteer shifts with the Inn of the Good Shepherd, where they are introduced to the food bank and soup kitchen. Students become familiar with the organization and donation process, as well as the clients who use these services. Once shifts are complete, students reflect and debrief, broadening their understanding of poverty, homelessness, and welfare programs in Canada, Ontario, and Sarnia.
