The Flexible Education department offers continuing education options that fit your schedule, your learning objectives, and your personal interests.
We offer a wide variety of online courses that can be taken at your own pace with or without a facilitator. Online courses can be taken for interest, or you can take a collection of courses to achieve a credential. Online courses typically have monthly intakes so you can start whenever your schedule allows.
If you’re looking for courses you can take on-site either for personal interest or to obtain additional training to further your career, we have options you can explore. Courses can be offered both in the daytime and evenings depending on the course you’re interested in.
We offer full-time, fully online programs that lead to diplomas and certificates. These programs are OSAP eligible if they’re taken on a full-time basis. Our online programs can be taken on a part-time basis, but students may not be eligible for OSAP if they choose the part-time option.
Let us know if there is a course or a program that you wish we offered. Maybe we can start working on developing something specifically for you!
Aside from our full-time, fully online, programs – you don’t need to go through an application process to start learning.
If you’re looking at taking an online course or a part-time, in-person course, all you must do is add it to your cart and follow the payment process. Once you’ve paid for your course, you will receive information about how to access your course.
You can take up to 3 courses to maintain your part-time status. If you’re looking at taking more than 3 courses in one term, you will have to contact us to register at online@lambtoncollege.ca.
For the above programs, you will need to apply through ontariocolleges.ca. Visit the program page you are interested in and select the Apply Now button to be redirected to the application page on ontariocolleges.ca.
If you’re applying to one of our full-time, fully online programs, you may also be eligible for OSAP funding.
A micro-credential is a course or a grouping of courses that can be completed within 12 weeks and includes between 5 – 300 hours of learning. Micro-credentials tend to be add-ons to learning in which you already have a basic understanding.
Obtaining a micro-credential is a great way to advance in your career, expand your knowledge in a specific subject area, or upgrade your knowledge of new and emerging technologies.
A Lambton College certificate is a credential that our board has recognized as being valuable. These certificates are often obtained by completing a few micro-credentials and stacking them into a certificate.
Unlike an Ontario College Certificate, a Lambton College Certificate is not funded by the Ontario Government but it is rather a certificate that proves you’ve obtained additional training in a specific area of expertise.
An Ontario College Certificate is typically two terms or 600 – 700 instructional hours and includes specific admission requirements. This certificate is funded by the Ontario Government and usually includes learning objectives that prepare the learner for entry-level employment or further education.
An Ontario College Diploma is typically four terms or 1200 – 1400 instructional hours and includes specific admission requirements. This diploma is funded by the Ontario Government and usually prepares learners for entry into the workforce or further education.
