Hairstylist Apprenticeship


Program Information

This is a restricted certified trade. A person must have a valid Certificate of Qualification or be registered as an apprentice to work in the trade.

This apprenticeship takes about 2 to 2.5 years or between 3,500 and 5,000 hours including 480 hours of post-secondary, in-school training. This program consists of a basic and advanced level offered on a part-time basis.

Applicants need a sponsor/employer and must register through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).

Applicants that are registered as an apprentice in a trade should receive a letter from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) inviting them to apply for schooling. All applications from that point will need their payment processed by the Registrar’s Office at Lambton College.

If you are a registered apprentice and have not received a letter regarding apprenticeship schooling then contact your local MTCU office.
