Term 1 (Jun 26 - Nov 21)

HCL-1003: Managing Oneself and Leading Others

Explore the range of operations, career opportunities and the interrelationship among the sectors of the Tourism Industry. Discuss Canada's business environment, visitors, and tourism product as a means of developing a solid foundation of key concepts and vocabulary for use in future courses.

Term 2 (Nov 22 - Feb 21)

HCL-2003: Leading in Organizations and Communities

Manage and operate successful hospitality and tourism enterprises by gaining a solid understanding of financial management. Preparation and interpretation of financial statements and key performance indicators are some of the skills developed to maximize profitability of operations.

Term 3 (Feb 24 - May 1)

HCL-3002: Leadership in Action

The final piece is the capstone course where you will engage in a community volunteer experience that will provide an opportunity to practice and reflect on techniques and skills learned in the program. Based on your prior course work and experience in your work setting, you will examine the relationships between leadership theory and practice, assess their effectiveness in a leadership role, and develop a personal plan for further developing your leadership skills.
