Process Piping Design & Enterprise Project Management - Dual Program

Program Information

This unique dual program allows students to obtain two Ontario College Graduate Certificates over a period of two academic years (four terms) in Process Piping Design and Enterprise Project Management.

This dual program is designed to produce graduates who have the necessary design and project management skills coupled with practical knowledge of a diverse number of process plants.

The first year of the program is the Process Piping Design Ontario College Graduate Certificate program that takes place at Lambton College in Sarnia. This program is designed to equip students with the specialized and highly practical skills involving the fundamentals of piping system components, specifications, regulations, 2D and 3D drawings, and applications. This innovative curriculum will delve into the engineering of complex process facilities, including plant layout planning, piping and equipment, design and software skills, and related standards.

Students will assess the responsibilities of a piping designer and determine specific roles that are carried out in an entire piping design project. Additionally, students will have an opportunity to integrate piping design principles and industry codes that will align with engineering practices through hands-on labs.

The second year of the program takes place at Lambton in Toronto where students will gain skills in project management and business leadership. The program includes all nine project management knowledge areas based on the PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Sixth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2013 - including: project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement management and all five process groups - initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling and closing to a wide range of projects.

The fees to join the PMI® are not included in your tuition and joining is an optional recommendation.
