Program Information

Occupational Health Nurses provide health and safety services in workplaces, for both employers and employees. Lambton's Ontario College Graduate Certificate helps prepare RNs for practice as an Occupational Health Nurse. The program covers areas such as ergonomics and disability management, health and safety management, health and safety legislation, and more.

This program is appropriate for both Registered Nurses planning to work toward the Canadian Nurses Association COHN-C certification as well as experienced Occupational Health Nurses looking to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Admission Requirements

Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent.

In addition, you must possess:

  • A Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
    -or-
  • Registered in the jurisdiction where you live

If you are taking part-time courses with the intention of completing a program and earning a credential, you must meet Admission Requirements outlined on the program page. It is the student's responsibility to supply proof of admission requirements to the Office of the Registrar before he/she has completed three courses in the program.

If you do complete the program and do not have the appropriate admission requirements, you will be ineligible to receive your certificate or diploma.

If you believe you have an equivalent level of knowledge and would like credit for Prior Learning Assessment, please contact Counselling at 519-479-1023 at least two weeks before classes begin.
