The collaborative Health Care Management & Leadership Development Board of Governors certificate is a partnership program between Lambton College and Bluewater Health.

It is an integral component of training for managers and leaders in an environment where the landscape is rapidly evolving. The program will enhance fundamental business acumen, people and leadership skills through the exploration of aspects of human resources,  finance, quality assurance, legislation and law relative to a health care environment.

Care management techniques will be applied in the health care setting including performance, change management and working in a team environment. The program will provide skills and knowledge to strengthen a leader's competencies by:

Foundational to all of the competencies and accountabilities for those in management roles will be the dialogue and strategies surfaced in the introduction related to individuals gaining reflective skills and developing their personal approaches to self-care and continuous development.

Students will gain a stronger understanding of modern healthcare and develop management skills needed to deliver quality healthcare solutions to diverse segments of the public.

Admission Requirements

Post-secondary credential or equivalent
Minimum of three years management experience in a health care setting

Graduates of this program will be able to manage a diverse range of people and processes in the healthcare sector. This program is best suited to those individuals who are new to a management role or who have been in a management role for some time.

The program curriculum is relevant to all manners of health care organizations including, hospitals, community care, public health and primary care.
