Research Expertise

Firoz is an active researcher with the Research & Innovation department at Lambton College. He has supervised a wide variety of applied research projects in the field of renewable energy. 

As part of his graduate research work at University of Windsor, he developed a novel LPTN thermal modelling for EV motor drives. Firoz also has 16 peer reviewed Journal and conference publications. His research areas of expertise are thermal modelling of EV-motor drives, thermo-fluid modelling and renewable energy conversion and storage.


Bio & Academic Background

Firoz Ahmed is a professor and coordinator for the Applied Process Piping Design program in the School of Technology and Trades at Lambton College. He teaches mechanical engineering technology and CAD design courses in the technology programs. 

Prior to his time at Lambton, Firoz worked as a reviewer for a National Solar Energy Technology Curriculum Development project under Natural Resources Canada. He has extensive expertise in renewable energy system design and simulation.
