Bio & Academic Background

Janet Raiger is a Lambton College professor in the Bachelor of Nursing program. She holds a Masters in Nursing from the University of Windsor and has worked as a staff nurse in intensive care and the cardiac care hospital units. Janet also worked as a community nurse with VON and has worked for many years at Lambton College as a nursing professor and has been involved in the BSN Collaborative program since its inception. Janet was the associate Dean for two years in the School of Health and Community Services and the BSN Coordinator for many years. She currently teaches year two medical surgical nursing and maternity nursing for the BSN program.

Janet has volunteered to take students for clinical experiences in Haiti and Guatemala and has participated in medical clinics in the Dominican Republic and Honduras. She has published research about student satisfaction with the undergraduate program, student performance in health assessment clinical exams and received funding to research the perceptions of student nurses doing a service learning clinical experience in Haiti.
