Lambton College to Participate in Second Smoke-Free Campus Day

SARNIA, September 25, 2018 – On Friday, September 28, 2018, Lambton College will be going smoke-free for the second time this year. No smoking will be encouraged across all Lambton College campuses.

The smoke-free day is being held in conjunction with the college’s Health Fair, presented by the Atkin Family Wellness Centre. The annual information fair will take place in the upper cafeteria from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and will provide a variety of resources to students about health and wellness services available to them both on campus and in community. Lambton Public Health and Leave the Pack Behind will also be available to discuss smoking cessation and provide information on supportive programs and services.

Post-secondary campuses offer a unique opportunity to intervene and support large numbers of young adults to not start – or quit – smoking, and to protect them, as well as staff, faculty, administration, and visitors from exposure to second-hand smoke.
