New Facilities and New Programs to Highlight Lambton College’s Spring Open House

SARNIA, February 26, 2019 – With three brand new facilities now open for students, campus tours are expected to be one of the main attractions at Lambton College’s upcoming Spring Open House. The annual event, scheduled to take place Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., is set to feature a jam-packed agenda filled with interactive activities, educational information and detailed tours of all Lambton’s newly constructed buildings and facilities.

Guests of the daylong Open House will have the opportunity to take a personalized tour of the newly opened College facilities, all of which are now being fully utilized by students.

For the first time, the College is pleased to be offering full tours of the following facilities, all of which are now being fully utilized by students:

The NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre

This brand new 60,000 sq. ft. Centre is home to all Health Sciences programming labs and advanced technology simulation facilities, allowing students to study in state-of-practice spaces that simulate the most advanced equipment standards in the health sciences industry.

The Athletics & Fitness Complex

Following a massive two-year build, this 40,000 sq. ft. facility is home to the newly rebranded Varsity Lions and boasts a 1,240 seat gymnasium and spacious fitness facility.

The Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technologies:

Following a two-year, $14.2 million upgrade, this 34,000 sq. ft. facility offers specially designed collaborative spaces that create an exceptional learning environment for Lambton College students.

Opportunities to explore other aspects of the growing campus will also be available via group tours that will include detailed stops such as the Esports Arena (the first of its kind in Canada) and ongoing shuttles to the Fire & Public Safety Centre of Excellence, the Skilled Trades Training Centre, and Residence.

Other highlights on the day’s agenda include the chance to chat with Deans, faculty, staff and students from all of Lambton College’s programs, including brand new offerings such as Chemical Lab Technician, Esports Entrepreneurship & Administration, Heating, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician, Occupational Therapist Assistant & Physiotherapist Assistant, Power Engineering Techniques, and Recreation Therapy.

Additional incentives include the opportunity to apply to Lambton College on-the-spot. The Enrolment Team will be available to assist all guests with the application process during the event. As an added bonus for attending Open House, Lambton College will pay the $95 application fee for any students who apply during the event.

An assortment of exciting giveaways will also be taking place, including prizes for every student who accepts their offer during Open House, and a chance for an incoming student to win the grand prize of free tuition.
