CIMS Limited Partnership provides generous gift to Lambton College

SARNIA, February 28, 2019 – The Lambton College Foundation is pleased to announce that CIMS Limited Partnership has generously pledged $125,000 to the Envision Tomorrow Capital and Equipment Renewal Campaign. In appreciation of the donation, the Student Lounge in the newly renovated Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technologies will include dedicated signage to recognize CIMS’ generosity.

The Lounge is a bright, large gathering space that features accessible furnishings and furniture to facilitate collaboration, study opportunities, and small group work between students.

“CIMS wants to make a difference in the communities in which we do business,” says Adrian DiCocco, VP Operations Eastern Canada. “We believe that this gift will support Lambton College students on their academic journey and then resonate within the greater community when these students become knowledgeable, passionate contributors to the workforce.”

CIMS Limited Partnership is 100% Canadian owned and operated. For more than 20 years they have specialized in industrial construction and maintenance throughout North America with extensive experience in the oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining and smelting, power generation, and chemical sectors.

“Lambton College and CIMS have many of the same values in common, such as quality and innovation, which reflect our shared passion to empower and inspire the students who will shape tomorrow,” says Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College.

The Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technologies officially opened on September 20, 2018, and was designed to bring together academic programing, industry-standard training, and research labs. It features modern facilities to meet the growing demands of Lambton College students and includes the addition of collaborative study spaces, such as the Student Lounge, where students can congregate, work together in a collegial, welcoming environment, or use the recharging station to power their mobile phones and laptops.

The Lambton College Foundation’s Envision Tomorrow Capital and Equipment Renewal Campaign was launched in June 2015. The campaign was established to enhance academic programming, student athletic needs, and applied research opportunities, and includes the construction of the NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre, which officially opens in May, the new Athletics & Fitness Complex, and an equipment renewal program that will expand student and community capacity for experiential learning and corporate training.
