Lambton College Hosts 27th Annual Pow Wow on Thursday, April 4

SARNIA, April 1, 2019 – The Lambton College Indigenous Student Council and Indigenous Student Centre will be hosting their 27th Annual Pow Wow on Thursday, April 4 in the College’s brand new Athletics & Fitness Complex. The yearly celebration of life will feature dancers in full regalia, traditional arts and crafts, and drumming and singing. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the Pow Wow celebration and discover what it means to Indigenous people.

Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. and the grand entry will open the cultural event at 11 a.m. with all dancers entering the dance circle for the first time. The festivities will continue until 3 p.m.

In addition to dance demonstrations, the event will also feature an onsite Tipi, information booths, traditional food, intertribal songs, arts and craft vendors, and prizes for audience participation.

Admission to the Pow Wow is free and the public is welcome to attend.
