Lambton College Prepares to Host Inaugural Lambton Esports Open Tournament

SARNIA, April 2, 2019 – The largest esports event in Sarnia-Lambton’s history is about to take place at Lambton College this week. On Friday, April 5, students and representatives of the College’s Esports – Entrepreneurship & Administration program will host the inaugural Lambton Esports Open.

Doors will open at 12 p.m. and competition, which starts at 2 p.m. will feature live gaming action from players competing in League of Legends, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. All participating players will be competing for the chance to win scholarships to Lambton College.

The free event is open to the community, and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of gaming-centred activities including virtual reality games courtesy of District Beta as well as a selection of retro video games.

Some amazing door prizes will also be up for grabs, and guests can also treat themselves to a massage from Lambton College's Massage Therapy students, and learn more about the College’s program offerings and new world-class facilities, including the campus Esports Arena.

The event supports the Children's Miracle Networks' Extra Life program and attendees are encouraged to donate to the London Children's Hospital. Donations can be made through the Lambton Lions Esports Extra Life team page at https://bit.ly/2YMgrUr .

The tournament has been entirely organized and operated by students enrolled in Lambton College's Esports Entrepreneurship & Administration program.
