Popular Technology Forum to Highlight Lambton College’s Fall Open House

November 7, 2019

SARNIA, November 7, 2019 – Campus tours and program information aren’t the only highlights of Lambton College’s upcoming Fall Open House. The annual event, scheduled to take place Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., is set to feature a jam-packed agenda filled with interactive activities and educational information that’s bound to appeal to incoming students.

Headlining the event will be the much-anticipated Technology Forum, featuring a lineup of presentations from local plant managers, including representatives from NOVA Chemicals, Suncor Energy, and Bruce Power, who will speak about the local labour market as it pertains specifically to Lambton College graduates. Recent graduates and co-op students will also speak about their own personal experiences and career prospects.

The Technology Forum will start at 10:30 a.m. and guests will learn more about why local projects such as NOVA Chemicals’ construction of a new polyethylene facility in St. Clair Township mean increased demand for skilled trades and technology graduates in the region.

Guests will also learn more about Research & Innovation at Lambton College, and how growth in this area has led to a strong network of research partners throughout the region and the development of multiple research projects.

Detailed tours of Lambton College’s world-class Centre of Excellence in Energy & Bio-Industrial Technology will also be available, including a full list of training labs and learning facilities.

“Our Technology Forum provides an excellent venue for prospective students and their families to hear from leaders of our local industry about opportunities for graduates right here in Sarnia-Lambton,” says Cindy Buchanan, Senior Director, Marketing, Communications & Brand Management, Lambton College. “Attendees will hear first-hand about how Lambton College aligns programs and training with the needs of local industry and the ways in which our new facilities are providing the innovative learning environments that will produce the skilled workforce needed to move local projects forward.”

Other highlights on the day’s agenda include the chance to chat with Deans, staff and students from all of Lambton College’s programs, and the chance to win some fantastic prizes including tuition for the 2020/2021 school year.

Additional incentives include the opportunity to apply to Lambton College on-the-spot. Applications are now open for both January and September 2020 programs and the Enrolment team will be available to assist all guests with the application process during the event. As an added bonus for attending Open House, Lambton College will pay the $95 application fee for any students who apply during the event.
