SARNIA, May 13, 2020 – The Lambton College Foundation is announcing the Envision Tomorrow Student Support Fund, an initiative designed to support students grappling with the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.
Many Lambton College students have been adversely affected by the pandemic and are experiencing significant hardship. The Envision Tomorrow Student Support Fund will provide help in the form of a food security program that supports local businesses and distributes food to students in need, and a fall scholarship program.
“So many people have been impacted by this crisis, and our students are among those seriously affected,” says Judith Morris, President & CEO, Lambton College. “With this support fund we are working to alleviate some of the hardship they’re experiencing and help them focus on gaining the education and skills that will help them bolster our local workforce in the very near future.”
Lambton College’s generous longtime partners NOVA Chemicals have joined forces with the Lambton College Alumni Association to match the first $30,000 in donations.
“A donation of any amount will make a difference in the Envision Tomorrow Student Support Fund,” says Marc Guilbeault, Director, The Lambton College Foundation & Alumni Association. “We can’t overstate our gratitude to NOVA Chemicals, the Alumni Association, and all of our partners, donors, and community members whose generosity and kindness make this such a wonderful place to live and learn for our students.”
The Lambton College Foundation’s fundraising initiatives support Lambton College as a world-class educational institution, one that attracts new students to the area to support the retention of highly skilled professionals for the Sarnia-Lambton workforce.
Donations to the Envision Tomorrow Student Support Fund can be made through The Lambton College Foundation’s CanadaHelps page or by contacting Fundraising Coordinator Ashley Bisson at ashley.bisson@lambtoncollege.ca or (519) 312-1008.
