Lambton College Research & Innovation Receives $110,000 Equipment Donation

SARNIA, July 29, 2020 - Lambton College's nationally renowned Research & Innovation department recently received an equipment donation worth more than $110,000.

Donated on behalf of Wajax Industrial Components, the contribution includes new and unused Honeywell transmitters, controllers and recorders and will help the College continue to offer experiential training on state-of practice equipment. It will also bolster the College's Research initiatives allowing them to further assist local and regional partners with their applied research needs.

“This donation benefits education and research at Lambton College,” says Mehdi Sheikhzadeh, Vice President, Research & Innovation at Lambton College. “The generosity Wajax has shown our College will allow us to work with our partners on collaborative applied research projects over and above our current capacity while giving our students invaluable experiential learning opportunities that will help prepare them for industry 4.0.”

The equipment will primarily benefit students enrolled in Lambton's Instrumentation & Control Engineering Technology program, enabling them to be trained on industry standard instruments, sensors and control systems. It will also be of benefit to students enrolled in the Environmental Technician - Water & Wastewater Systems Operations and Chemical Production & Engineering Technology programs. The industry experience provided by this equipment will help Lambton College continue to produce highly-skilled graduates.
