    Metis Funding

    • You will be required to fill out a funding application.
    • Contact the Metis Nation of Ontario or call 1-800-263-4889.

    First Nations and Inuit Funding

    • You will be required to fill out a funding application.
    • Contact your respective post-secondary education department.
    • Funding may be available for tuition, books, fees and a living allowance.
    • Application deadlines vary. To avoid disappointment apply early in the year.

    Student Loan & Grant Program - Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

    • Apply online
    • Since September 2017, eligible students from families with incomes of $50,000 or less will receive free average tuition, including students less than four years out of high school, married students and single-parent students.
    • New changes for Indigenous students: a) $3,000 student contribution will be waived and b)Band funding exception.
    • Students have the option to accept all of their OSAP funding (grants and loan) or only the grant.
    • A loan is required to be repaid after the student is done school. A grant is free money.

    Additional Funding Opportunities

    • Indspire provides hundreds of scholarships and bursaries to thousands of students every year
    • The Dreamcatcher Charitable Foundation funds eligible applicants in the areas of education support.
    • The "Indigenous Bursaries Search Tool" is a searchable list of 688 bursaries, scholarships and incentives across Canada.
    • Lambton College offers a variety of scholarships, bursaries and on-campus employment.
