The Research & Innovation department at Lambton College offers a collaboration platform to the partners (industry, not for profit organizations, industry associations and academic).
At Lambton College, all of our projects are collaborative projects and focus on the “Applied” side of research. This type of research seeks answers to questions related to solving real world problems, providing direct impact to the partner. The project
ideas come directly from the partners to the College.
These collaborative projects can be carried out in two different forms:
- Grant-Based Collaboration (Cost of the project is mainly covered by the governmental grant)
- Contract or Fee-Based Services (Cost of the project is solely covered by the partner)
Depending on the partner’s preference, size of the project and funding options available, one of these two types is selected to support the project.
Intellectual Property (IP) Policy for the Collaborative Research Project with Industry
Based on the College’s policy, all intellectual property owned prior to the project commencement AND developed throughout the research project belongs to the partner.
