    “Be Safe, Feel Safe”

We are ready with our “Be Safe, Feel Safe” protocols and have taken considerable steps to ensure our facilities adhere to strict health and safety guidelines by working with Lambton Public Health and provincial authorities. Our rigorous health and safety protocols, increased cleaning, new hand sanitizing stations and social distancing guidelines will ensure the safety of everyone who will be on campus and our philosophy of caring will help us to be accountable for the safety of not only ourselves, but others, at all times.

    New and Enhanced Safety Protocols

    Masks

In alignment with public health recommendations, it will be mandatory for all individuals on campus to wear a mask when moving through the halls or accessing washrooms, and in any area of the College, where 6ft of physical distancing is not possible. Please be sure to bring a mask with you prior to entering the campus buildings. This mask wearing protocol is also in line with the new city of Sarnia by-law, effective beginning July 31, 2020 that wearing a face covering will be required in public indoor spaces in the city of Sarnia. Read more about this new by-law.

    Enhanced Screening

Everyone entering the campus building (each time), will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire. Staff and students can complete the pre-entry questionnaire on their computer or mobile device before arriving at the college.

The screening is available at mylambton.ca/screening. You can easily access this questionnaire and other campus guidelines on our LambtonSafe app downloadable via the App Store or Google Play.

    student experience

We want to make sure our students are able to enjoy the best student experience possible given the current circumstances.

While plans and activities are still being finalized, Lambton students can be assured that opportunities to safely participate in activities both virtually and on campus will be provided for our Fall Term.

Details of our student life plans are still being completed and will be communicated with students as they become available. For the most current information, students should log-in to their myLambton.ca account for updates on Student Services and events.

    Student Events

We know student engagement is a key part of student success. Our team is working to provide a variety of safe and interactive events including an Esports tournament, scavenger hunts, social media challenges, outdoor activities, a virtual pub night and more activities to help students enjoy a well-rounded experience.

    Student Life Plan

Lambton College in partnership with the Student Administrative Council (SAC) are committed to providing comprehensive and rewarding student life experiences while maintaining a healthy and safe learning environment. SAC has prepared a series of events including trivia, BINGO, fitness classes and challenges, talent shows and concerts.

Based on Government regulations and health and safety protocols, SAC and Lambton College are committed to offering services in the Lions Den, Esports Arena, Fitness Centre and Gymnasium to allow continued focus on student connection and engagement.

    Student Health and Wellness

We recognize that the transition to College brings with it a lot of change and new experiences, which can be both exciting and stressful. Our Let’s Face It (LFI) team aims to build strength and resilience through student led initiatives by providing a student engagement platform focusing on student health and wellness.

In September, LFI is implementing 21 days of programming created to raise awareness of the challenges that might arise during this transition, help students develop new friendships, and have an opportunity to connect with the College and community. The First 21 Days calendar of events will be available on the LFI Facebook page.

Additional health and wellness initiatives offered in a remote format will include peer-to-peer virtual support programs, online engagement activities, daily promotion of health and wellness, and other activities focused on student health, wellness, and engagement. Feel free to also review our COVID-19 policy (4000-3-10)
