Steps to Online Learning

  • Welcome to Online Education at Lambton College.

Whether you want to advance your career by taking a program for professional development or you want to widen your world by taking a course for personal interest, achieving your goals takes motivation and support. Our online courses give you both. And the best part about online learning is that it's flexible, so it fits into your life instead of making it complicated.

At Lambton College, we recognize that not everyone is familiar with online learning, so we've created these Steps to Online Learning to help you find the information you need.

Are you interested in taking a single course or do you want to take a program leading to a credential? You can search our Programs and Courses to help you find the information you need.

Not sure where to find the information you're looking for? We're here to help. Contact Us if you have any questions. We can help you find a course that matches your interests, answer your questions about things like fees and start dates, and give you information about all the services and supports available to you as a Lambton College student.

To register for a course, just click the Register Now button on the course pages. You can also register in-person at the Office of the Registrar.

Once you've registered, you will receive your login information for, which you can use to check grades and book tests, midterms and final exams.

Prior to the day your course starts, you will receive separate login information for the learning platform where you will access your online course. The details of this login will depend on which learning platform your course is on (e.g. OntarioLearn, Ed2Go, D2L, etc.)

We've created a list of Tips for Success to help you get the most out of your online learning experience.

Make sure you know your way around. On you'll find information about logging in, purchasing textbooks, accessing grades, booking exams and anything else that is unique to your course.

If, along the way, you are unsure about anything, contact the Online Education department and we can answer any questions you may have.

On the day your course starts, login to your online course.

Review any start up announcements and important dates once you've logged in for the first time. Be sure to put those important dates into your calendar so you can stay on track with tests and assignments.

Final grades are posted approximately three weeks after the end of the course.

With Online Education programs, you don't apply to be accepted, you apply to graduate. Remember to fill out the Application to Graduate before you start your last course - this can be found by logging into and visiting the Office of the Registrar section.

If there are admission requirements for your program, you will have to demonstrate that you have met them in order to graduate. Check the admission requirements section of the program page to see the specific requirements.
