Placement Providers

  • The Field & Clinical Placement Liaison is always looking to secure new placement opportunities for students. Placement providers allow students the opportunity to practice their skills under the supervision of a certified practitioner. These experiential learning opportunities are vital to the success of students post-graduation. In turn, students will bring their knowledge and skills to the organization.

    Field & Clinical Placement Programs

    Student Supervision

Faculty may not be on site during the placement, but they will have continuous contact with the student and placement location throughout the process to address any questions or concerns.

    Student Documentation

Prior to starting a placement, all students will have obtained the below documentation:

    • Passport to Placement: Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector and up-to-date Health Immunizations
    • Bill 18 (AODA, WHMIS, Health & Safety, Sexual Assault and Sexual Violence, and Workplace Violence)
    • In addition some programs require students to have CPR (HCP or Level C), First Aid, Mask Fit Testing, and Crisis Intervention Training

    Insurance Coverage

All unpaid field placement students are covered by WSIB or Private Insurance from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). You are required to sign a copy of the Letter to Placement Employer and send back to the College. Lambton College will need to know if you carry WSIB or Private Insurance, as we match the type of provider you have when making a claim.

Should an incident or injury occur while the student is on placement, students are aware of the procedure for reporting incidents and it is their responsibility to reach out to their faculty supervisor.
