Performance management is a strategic practice to enhance and contribute to overall organizational success. Performance management approaches, theories and practices are intended to create work environments and organizational processes that encourage and facilitate the achievement of individual, team, departmental and overall organizational goals and performance standards, leading to the development and sustainability of employment relationships.

This course provides students with a proficient understanding of performance management, performance appraisal and assessment, and the role of management and the organization in the performance approval process.

Students study the linkage to and impact of performance management on other areas of Human Resources. This subject involves the study of research and investigation techniques as they pertain to the measurement and determination of appropriate workforce behaviour, including performance improvement, progressive discipline and the termination of employment.
