How do you feel that your training at Lambton College has prepared you for your success?

Lambton College prepared me for my future success in the field of accounting by providing a foundation of both focused and broad business acumen. This foundation allowed me to pursue both a career, through the co-op portion of the program, and further education, through the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario profession (formerly CGA of Ontario) immediately upon graduation.

What advice would you give to somebody who is considering taking the same course at Lambton College?

For any student who is considering coming to Lambton College to pursue Business Administration – Accounting, or any other business program, I would recommend taking this program as a stepping stone to further education through the College’s collaboration with Nipissing University to diversify your education portfolio with broad senior level business courses. However, by coming to College first it allows you to gain hands-on experiential learning that can quickly be applied to the workplace but can also transition into better theoretical understanding at the university level if that route is chosen. Finally, always apply yourself to anything that you do whether it be in your education or seeking a career, your efforts will surely not go unnoticed.

Anything else to add about your Lambton College experience or your current success?

Another tip for success for future students is visit with Lambton’s Financial Aid department to determine eligibility for and get help with submitting applications for bursaries and awards as well as research online to find awards that are available to you. I was able to fund most of my education through scholarships, bursaries and awards and I highly recommend other students to look into it – it is worth the effort!
