Students who are transferring to the Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology program either internally or from another institution are encouraged to review the Transfer Opportunities section or contact the Office of the Registrar & Financial Aid Services.

Accreditations/Certifications

Operating Engineering Certification

Upon successful completion of the first three terms of this program, students will be eligible for a nine-month practical time reduction towards their 4th Class Operating Engineering certification.

TSSA 4th Class Certification Requirements

  • Obtaining a TSSA 4th Class ticket requires passing 2 provincial exams and normally 12 months of practical steam time. 
  • Successful completion of the first 3 academic terms of the program provides students with 9 months of practical steam time reduction. The co-op opportunity gives the student the opportunity to obtain the remaining 3 months of practical steam time to complete their 4th Class ticket. The provincial tests require additional fees paid for by the student.
