Program Code: MDLC (Part-Time) Length of Program: 30 Weeks Awarded Upon Completion: Board of Governors Certificate

This Board of Governors certificate enables students to develop skills required for employment in the medical clerk field. Program courses develop skills in the areas of office management and business communications, medical terminology, word processing and spreadsheet software, and students have options in the area of medical conditions, pharmacology, surgical procedures and medical tests.

Please Note: All courses are available for study on a full-time or part-time basis and are all offered online. 

Admission Requirements

O.S.S.D. or equivalent

Mature applicants must be at least 19 years of age by the start of classes and be out of secondary school for at least one year. Mature applicant testing is available in the Counselling Department. The test(s) will demonstrate equivalency in required admission subjects. For more information please contact the Counselling Department at ext 3412.

Applications for this program are not accepted through ontariocolleges.ca.

Employment Opportunities

Graduates of this program most commonly find entry level positions in medical office environments.
