The Pre-Trades & Technology Ontario College Certificate program is designed to assist those who are interested in a technical career but have yet to decide which one, or lack the necessary prerequisites for the career path they’ve chosen.

In just two terms, students are introduced to careers and programs in the skilled trades, as well as the two and three-year technician and technology program offerings. In addition, students will obtain guidance toward reaching their own personal goals and career paths, and can upgrade their knowledge and skills in subjects such as chemistry and math, that may have previously prevented them from applying for their desired programs.

One course, in each of the two terms, can be chosen from a list of options. Students, therefore have the opportunity to take diploma level courses to learn more about the career of interest to them, while they earn advanced credits in a diploma program.

Students may enter this program in either the fall or winter term.

Please Note: Completion of the Pre-Trades and Technology certificate does not guarantee entrance into any program at Lambton College. Applicants in highly competitive programs are ranked. Applicants who have successfully completed Pre-Trades & Technology at Lambton College will receive 10 bonus marks towards their admission ranking.

Where there is intent to prepare for entry into a technology-related program at other colleges, please seek advice from those colleges regarding acceptance of credits from Lambton College.
