The Massage Therapy program at Lambton College is well-known provincially and nationally for producing highly qualified and successful Massage Therapists.
Graduates of the Lambton College Massage Therapy program perform extremely well at the Provincial Registration exams year after year. Lambton College's advanced diploma program will equip students with the academic knowledge, hands on skills, and experiential learning opportunities needed to succeed as a regulated health professional.
Massage Therapy Program students study in the new state-of-practice NOVA Chemicals Health & Research Centre that is fully equipped with the latest industry standard technologies.
The Clinic, is Lambton College’s student run, faculty supervised massage clinic where students start working with the community in first year. In second year, they will hone their skills by also utilizing learned assessments, treatment applications, and remedial exercise on members of the community from diverse populations. Students are surrounded by professional faculty who bring experience, longevity, and passion to the classroom.
The Massage Therapy program hosts weekly, public clinics beginning at the end of the first year, in Term 3. In second year, students continue to participate in weekly clinics with the public. In addition to clinic, weekly outreaches are added to create further opportunities for students to work with members of the public with specific needs. Examples of past and present outreaches include:
Given that that practice of massage is very much hands-on, it is important that students receive opportunities to practice not only on each other, but on members of the public. This allows for real life experiences and creates an environment for students to learn, and to hone their skills, while acquiring needed hours to maintain Preliminary Accreditation - contributing to our future accreditation application.
Graduates of the Lambton College Massage Therapy program have amazing opportunities to pursue university degrees if they choose to take advantage of the many transfers or articulation agreements that exist.
Preliminary Accreditation - the Massage Therapy program at Lambton College has been granted Preliminary Accreditation, the first step in the CMTCA accreditation process. Following a site visit to verify compliance with the standards, CMTCA will issue a final accreditation decision.
