Program Code: ACRP (Part-Time) Awarded Upon Completion: Board of Governors Certificate

The Indigenous Culture and Relationships Board of Governors’ Certificate, is designed to enhance student knowledge in terms of relationship building in business and industry with Indigenous people and communities. Students will formulate a deeper understanding of the diversity and history that influence these relationships.

Students will increase their knowledge of important issues within the Indigenous cultures of Canada, as well as explore the legal status of Indigenous Peoples including such topics as Indigenous rights and self-determination. In addition, students are introduced to the Anishnaabe prophecy that discusses the relationship between Native and non-Native people, and the need for both groups to understand and learn from one another.

Admission Requirements

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) or mature student status.

This certificate is not intended to provide direct employment opportunities. It is intended to provide graduates with an enhanced knowledge of Indigenous History and Culture in Canada.
